Advancing a Safer Church:
Safeguarding Policy Statement and Procedures for Children, Young
People and Adults.
Scope
As a church, we care about the protection of children, young people and
vulnerable adults involved in Church activities. This is the responsibility of the
whole church, as every participant in the life of the church has a role to play in
promoting a safer church for all.
This document sets out the policy for safeguarding children, young people and
vulnerable adult at Christ Paradise Church.
This policy has been drawn up based on legislation, policy and guidance that
seeks to protect children in England.
Children and young people should never experience abuse of any kind.
Other agencies are essential in promoting welfare.
Safe recruitment and selection of volunteers support for all those with any
responsibility relating to children, young people and vulnerable adults within
the church.
Some children are additionally vulnerable because of the impact of previous
experiences, level of dependency, communication needs, or other issues.
And so would need extra safeguards.
Promoting a safer environment and culture.
Caring pastorally for victims/survivors of abuse.
Caring pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations.
Responding to those that may pose a present risk to others.
Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation.
This policy applies to all Church Bodies. Full understanding and adherence to,
should lead to respect for the rights of children, young people and vulnerable
adults as people of faith in the life of the church.
